Police arrest man for Malvern robbery, South Australia

A man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted and robbed another man at Malvern earlier this afternoon.

Just on 12.30pm on Wednesday 17 February, the victim was sitting in his car in Eton Street, when the male suspect approached the vehicle and allegedly punched the victim through an open window. He then opened the car door and stole the man's wallet.

Southern District patrols were quick to respond searching the area, locating the suspect near Heywood Park at Hyde Park.

The 30-year-old man from Norwood is currently being interviewed but is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery.

The 60-year-old victim received facial injuries in the ordeal, including a possible broken nose and will be taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The man's wallet at this point hasn't been recovered.
