Police arrest man in Ararat

Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in Ararat last night after investigating a report of threats to kill.

The man was arrested on Barkly Street about 5pm after allegedly making the threats earlier in the day.

He was interviewed by police and further investigation led to officers executing a warrant at an address in Duncan Street, Murtoa last night.

During the search police allege they found a clandestine lab and a firearm.

The man was interviewed and charged with drugs, firearms and violence offences and has been remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court later today.
