Police Arrest Man In Vacant Building In City

A man was arrested after being caught trespassing in a vacant property on North Terrace in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to the building on North Terrace, Adelaide after an alarm was activated at 2am on Thursday 23 April.

Two men had scaled the outside of the building and were spotted on a ledge on the fifth floor by police.

Police surrounded the building and called in Police Dog Arlo to help search.

One suspect climbed down the building by an external ladder and was located in the basement.

The 32-year-old Para Hills man was arrested and charged with being unlawfully on premises. A car registered to him was located parked nearby and allegedly contained breaking implements. His vehicle was towed away by police for forensic examination, and he was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 11 June.

The second suspect was not sighted after being on the roof and police will follow up with him at a later date.
