Police arrest man over southern suburbs shooting, South Australia

A man has been arrested after a shooting at Port Noarlunga on Wednesday afternoon.

Police will allege that about 2.30pm on Wednesday 25 May, a 39-year-old Glenelg North man was shot in the leg after an altercation at the Esplanade near Benny Avenue.

The victim attended Noarlunga Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening and he has since been discharged from hospital.

Further enquiries led police to an Onkaparinga Hills address overnight where they located a 21-year-old man, who was arrested and charged with aggravated assault causing harm, discharging a firearm and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today (Friday 27 May).

It is believed the involved parties are known to each other.
