Police Arrest Pair After Ballarat Intercept

Ballarat police have arrested two people during an intercept this morning.

Officers were on patrol when they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in a carpark off Lydiard Street about 1.20am.

Police approached the vehicle and spoke to the two occupants inside.

After searching the car, officers located and seized several items including weapons, drug paraphernalia, a quantity of drugs and approximately $12,000 in cash.

Checks also revealed the car was allegedly stolen from a Melbourne address in September.

The pair, a 27-year-old Sebastopol woman and a 43-year-old Canadian man will be interviewed in relation to the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
