Police arrest pair after drugs and cash seized in Williamstown

A man and woman were arrested after police located a variety of drugs, a conducted-energy device and cash in a car at Williamstown early this morning.

Vigilant officers on the Williamstown van observed a car driving along the Strand and pulled it over about 4.10am.

A search of the car located a quantity of cannabis, MDMA, methylamphetamine, a conducted-energy device and approximately $7k in cash.

The driver, a 43-year-old Hadfield woman, was charged with three counts of possess a drug of dependence, possess a prohibited weapon and other offences.

She was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 4 November.

A 33-year-old Footscray man was released pending further enquiries.
