Police Arrest Pair In Stolen Car At North Adelaide

Police have arrested two Victorian teenagers in a stolen car at North Adelaide this afternoon.

About 3.30pm on Tuesday 13 October, police spotted a stolen Mazda CX3 sedan travelling south on Pulteney Street.

The stolen Mazda collided with a member of the public near the intersection of South Terrace before driving off with extensive front-end damage.

Patrols tracked the vehicle as it travelled back through the CBD via North Terrace and King William Street.

A second collision occurred with a member of the public on Main North Road at North Adelaide where the two occupants then abandoned the vehicle and ran off.

Officers were able to arrest them both after a short foot chase through nearby parklands.

The Mazda was reported stolen from Victoria, had stolen number plates attached to it and was also involved in earlier fuel thefts.

Thankfully there were no reports of injury.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with numerous offences including illegal use of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to exchange particulars at a crash scene, driving without due care and driving unlicenced. An 18-year-old woman was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and hindering police.

They have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
