Northern Territory Police have arrested six people following an alleged unlawful entry and theft of two vehicles from a Nightcliff residence overnight.
About 7:00am, police received a report that a residence on Poinciana Street had been unlawfully entered sometime between 2:00am and 3:00am.
It is alleged house keys were stolen from inside the residence and used to steal two vehicles, a bronze Mitsubishi Outlander and a white Kia EV3.
Live tracking information from one of the stolen vehicles indicated it was travelling through the Malak and Karama areas, and Strike Force Trident members immediately commenced efforts to locate both vehicles.
About 7:20am, police sighted the stolen vehicles travelling in Moil and coordinated resources to apprehend those involved.
A short time later, both vehicles entered Byrne Park in Moil, where six people allegedly abandoned the vehicles and fled on foot.
Strike Force Trident members quickly established a cordon and apprehended all six alleged offenders.
Three adults, 58, 19, 47 and three youths, aged 13, 15 and 17, were arrested and remain in police custody while investigations continue.
Police expect charges to follow.
Detective Senior Sergeant Darren Burns said some of the youths arrested were already known to police.
"Of particular concern, one of the youths was already on bail for serious alleged offending, including aggravated robbery and vehicle-related offences.
"Our officers continue to identify, locate and apprehend those responsible for this type of offending, and it is frustrating to see individuals allegedly return to the same behaviour while already before the courts.
"Strike Force Trident members acted quickly this morning, locating both stolen vehicles and apprehending all six people involved within a short period of the initial report."
