Police arrest six after pursuit

Six people have been arrested following a pursuit and crash in the northern suburbs overnight.

It is alleged police spotted a Toyota Prada speeding through roadworks on the Western Ring Road about 1am.

Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle but it sped off on police.

The Prada was then involved in a collision with a Holden Commodore at the Ballarat Road off ramp.

The teenage male driver of the Prada ran from the collision but was arrested a short time later.

Five teenage males who were left in the Prada were arrested at the scene.

Fortunately no one was injured in the collision.

Professional Standards Command have been notified and will have oversight of the investigation as per normal procedure.
