Police arrest teen after Oakleigh collision

A 17-year-old Seaford boy has been arrested after failing to stop for police while driving at speed across Melbourne last night.

Officers first noticed an allegedly stolen white BMW sedan driving in Footscray about 11pm.

The vehicle was followed and officers attempted to intercept the car in the Melbourne CDB.

The car sped off and headed towards Flemington and then drove to numerous other suburbs but was kept under observation by the Air Wing.

The car returned to the city and entered the M1 before exiting at Chadstone.

The BMW drove around the area until the driver noticed police units and sped off.

Police followed the car and it was involved in a collision with a truck at the intersection of Dandenong Road and Warrigal Road.

The BMW then rolled and hit another car before the driver exited the BMW and ran off.

A 17-year-old boy from Seaford was arrested a short distance away and is currently assisting police with their enquires.
