Police arrest teen in stolen car, South Australia

A teenager has been arrested after crashing a stolen car in the early hours of this morning.

About 1.40am on Thursday 21 May, Western District patrols spotted a white utility travelling at speed on Regency Road at Prospect. The vehicle was not pursued due to the manner of driving and it was last seen heading west on Grand Junction Road.

The stolen vehicle was located a short time later after the driver failed to navigate a round-about at Naweena Road and Aruma Street at Regency Park and crashed into the curb, causing extensive damage to the car.

The driver, a 17-year-old youth from Mannum was arrested without incident. He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Enquiries revealed the white Ford Falcon was stolen from the driveway of a Murray Bridge address earlier in the evening.

The youth is expected to be charged with illegal use, theft of credit cards, carry offensive weapon, driving disqualified and dangerous driving.
