Police arrest two after south-east suburbs evade 21 April

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two men in Dandenong North after a sedan was seen driving erratically across Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs early this morning.

Police were initially alerted to the grey Volkswagen Golf with no registration plates in Josephine Avenue, Narre Warren about 2.20am.

The Air Wing assisted ground units in tracking the vehicle, which at times allegedly travelled at excessive speeds along Heatherton Road, Belgrave- Hallam Road and Wellington Road.

Stop sticks were deployed on Wellington Road, Rowville and the vehicle stopped in Stud Road, Dandenong North.

Officers from the Dog Squad and Critical Incident Response Team located the men in the rear yard of a nearby residential address.

A 19-year-old Narre Warren man has been charged with dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, reckless conduct endangering life, drive manner dangerous, speed manner dangerous, fail to have proper control of motor vehicle, drive whilst suspended and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He will appear at the Dandenong Magistrates' Court today.

A 29-year-old Cranbourne North man has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

Detectives are investigating whether the vehicle was involved in other offending across Melbourne's east and south-eastern suburbs.
