Police arrest two after St Albans crop house fire

Police have arrested two people following a house fire in St Albans this morning (7 September).

Emergency services were called to the Syme Street address about 1.35am after neighbours noticed flames coming from the roof of a bungalow on the property.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, and allegedly located a hydroponic cannabis set-up inside.

A 49-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were arrested at the scene and are assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
