Police arrest two for Glenroy Aggravated Burglary

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives and specialist police units have arrested two men following an aggravated burglary on a house on Augustine Terrace in Glenroy about 4.30am yesterday (1 June).

Investigators have been told three offenders, two of whom were armed, entered the house and stole keys to a BMW before fleeing in the stolen car.

The house occupants, two men and a woman in their 30's were unharmed.

A 27-year-old Glenroy man was arrested at a service station on Sydney Road, Fawkner about 6.30pm last night.

The stolen BMW was recovered at the service station and a firearm was located inside the car.

A search warrant was executed at an address on Towong Street, Dallas and a 40-year-old Broadmeadows man was arrested without incident.

Both men were charged with home invasion with a firearm, aggravated burglary, theft of motor car and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

They were remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates today.

Investigators are seeking to identify the third male who attended at the Augustine Terrace home.
