Police arrest two men over stolen delivery van, South Australia

Police have arrested two men over the theft of a delivery van at Smithfield Plains today.

Just before 12pm today (Wednesday 2 November), police were called to Hodby Crescent after reports that a delivery driver's van was stolen from him while he was making deliveries.

Three men in a Holden Captiva station wagon had stopped behind the van, with one man getting out of the car and driving off in the van with the victim trying to stop him.

PolAir assisted with a search for the suspect vehicle and located it on Whitington Road at Davoren Park. Patrols set up cordons around a home on the street and subsequently arrested two men.

The home was searched and officers located the stolen parcels in a rear shed.

A 28-year-old man from Davoren Park and a 33-year-old man from Munno Para are currently being interviewed by police. They are expected to be charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft.

Police investigations are continuing.
