Police arrest woman after evade police incident

A 30-year-old woman will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court after she was charged following an evade police incident last night, 29 April 2020.

It is alleged about 8.40pm, Armadale Detectives on patrol sighted a Holden Commodore sedan travelling at speed along Corfield Street in Gosnells. Officers activated their vehicle's emergency lights and sirens but the driver did not stop.

It is further alleged the driver of the Commodore continued through various streets in Gosnells, Thornlie and Beckenham. The Commodore travelled onto the incorrect side of Orrong Road and police discontinued the pursuit.

It is alleged a short time later the Commodore sedan collided with another vehicle travelling on Orrong Road that was being driven by a 70-year-old woman. The 70-year-old woman received minor injuries and was conveyed to Midland Hospital as a precaution.

The 30-year-old woman from Forrestfield has been charged with:-

• Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police;

• Driver of a Vehicle Failed to Comply with a Direction to Stop (Circumstance of Aggravation);

• No Authority to Drive;

• Possess a Prohibited Drug (Meth); and

• Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm – in Circumstance of Aggravation.
