Police Arrest Woman After Pursuit - Alexandria

A woman is in custody after a pursuit in Sydney's inner west.

Shortly after 5.30am today (Friday 19 June 2026), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a white Audi S5 on New Canterbury Road, Petersham after the vehicle was seen leaving the scene of a break and enter a short time earlier at Spencer Street, Sumer Hill.

When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued for a short time through the M8 tunnel before it came to a stop on Lawrence Lane, Alexandria, where the occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene.

After a short foot pursuit, a woman was arrested at the scene.

Police are currently conducting a search of the area for the other vehicle occupants.

No further details are presently available.

Inquiries have established that the vehicle was reported stolen from Darley Street, Newtown, on Wednesday 6 May 2026.
