You are invited to join us for the Sustainability Festival at Ryde Wharf Markets on Sunday, 22 November 2026 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ryde Wharf Reserve, Ryde. This free event is delivered by the City of Ryde in conjunction with Ryde Wharf Markets and provides opportunities to explore ideas for reducing household waste, saving energy and water, reusing items, and improving recycling practices. It's a great way to get inspired to live more sustainably.
This year we also have an exciting announcement about a new waste service for our community which will be shared by the Mayor in his 11.30am speech, so don't miss that!
The festival brings together local organisations, educators, community groups and Council information stalls focused on simple, affordable sustainability programs, projects and services. There are also guest speakers and demonstrations occurring throughout the day, plus family-friendly entertainment including fun animal displays and renewable energy activities for children, sustainable waste to art crafts, and free bike safety checks.
You can also stop by the Ryde Wharf market stalls featuring pre-loved items, sustainable products, local produce, and artisan goods.
Be sure to bring your own reusable water bottle, coffee cup, and picnic blanket. If you forget your reusable coffee cup, a reusable coffee cup service will be available from vendors on the day. Coffee will be served in reusable cups provided by Cambridge Markets (without lids) for you to enjoy onsite, with special bins provided for the cups to be collected and washed off site. You can also take the cup away and return it on the next Ryde Wharf Market day.
Join us to celebrate our environment, connect with the community, and discover how small sustainable actions can collectively have a big impact on our environment!
