Police Charge 3 Over Elizabeth Street Bus Mall Disturbance

Police have charged three people following a disturbance in the Elizabeth Street Bus Mall last night.

Just after 6pm, police received several calls in relation to a disturbance which allegedly involved up to 20 people.

Several police units attended and three people were arrested.

A 25-year-old man and two 15-year-old youths have been charged with a variety of offences including:

  • Behave in a violent manner
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Unlawfully possess a dangerous article (knife)
  • Obstruct police
  • Resist Arrest.

They were each bailed to appear before the Court at a later date.

Police will continue to patrol the Hobart CBD and bus mall areas to detect and prevent anti-social and unlawful behaviours.

Anyone who witnesses anti-social or unlawful behaviour is urged to report to police on 131 444 in a non-emergency or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
