Police Charge Driver After Crash At Kelso

A man has been charged following a crash in the state's west yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Tadora Street, Kelso, about 3pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 March 2026), after a car hit a tree, trapping the two occupants.

The front-seat passenger, a 29-year-old woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for leg and pelvic injuries before being flown to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver - a 31-year-old man - was taken to Orange Base Hospital to be checked.

Upon release he was arrested by officers attached to Chifley Police District and taken to Bathurst Police Station where he was charged with four offences,

  • Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm
  • Negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm
  • Cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle, and
  • Unlicensed for Class C, R, LR or MR

He was refused to bail to appear before Bathurst Local Court today (Wednesday 4 March 2026).
