A driver has been charged following a single-vehicle crash in the Riverina late last year.
Emergency services were called to Byrnes Road, Harefield – between Junee and Wagga Wagga – about 3pm on Monday 3 November 2025, when a sedan left the road, entered a culvert and rolled.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the front-seat passenger – a 25-year-old man – for a fractured spine, sternum and nose.
The driver – a 41-year-old man – was also treated for spinal injuries.
They were both taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and later airlifted to a Sydney Hospital in serious conditions.
The rear passenger – a 42-year-old man – suffered head injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers from Riverina Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Following inquiries, on Friday 17 April 2026, officers issued the 41-year-old man with a Court Attendance Notice for negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm) and cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle.
He will appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 24 June 2026.
