Police Charge Driver Over Two-vehicle Crash At Appin

A man will face court over a serious two-vehicle crash in Sydney's south west earlier this year.

Just after 4pm on Thursday 13 March 2025, emergency services were called to Appin Road, Appin, following reports of a truck and a ute had collided.

The driver of the truck – a 36-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in serious condition.

The driver of ute – a 31-year-old man – was also treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

His passengers – a 30-year-old woman and three children aged 7, 4 and 3 – were taken to Liverpool Hospital with minor injuries.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit were called to commence an investigation into the incident.

Following inquires, on Monday 8 September 2025, the 36-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle (three counts), and negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm).

He was issued court attendance notice to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 27 November 2025.
