Police Charge Five People After Affray At Coffs Harbour

Five people, including four teenagers, have been charged following an alleged affray in Coffs Harbour yesterday.

About 12.50pm (Monday 29 June 2026), police were called to a shopping centre on the Pacific Highway, Coffs Harbour, following reports of an affray.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and were told two people had been assaulted.

While police were on scene, officers observed two teenage girls – both aged 16 – involved in a physical altercation.

At the same time, police observed a 15-year-old boy, allegedly armed with a set of bike handlebars, running towards a 20-year-old man.

Police intercepted the 15-year-old boy, and a 17-year-old girl in his company.

The boy, armed with the bike handlebars, allegedly lunged towards the girl, before lunging towards police, who deployed OC spray and a taser to effect his arrest.

While police were arresting the boy, the 17-year-old girl was allegedly acting aggressively towards police, who deployed OC spray a second time.

The 17-year-old girl then allegedly ran from police and engaged in a physical altercation with one of the 16-year-old girls.

Police arrested the two girls, as well as the 20-year-old man, who was located nearby.

A hammer and the bike handlebars were seized by police. No injuries were reported.

All four were taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

A short time later, a 16-year-old girl attended Coffs Harbour Police Station, where she was arrested.

The 15-year-old boy and the 20-year-old man were charged with affray and use etc offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence.

All three girls were charged with affray.

The 15-year-old boy, and one of the 16-year-old girls, were refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Tuesday 30 June 2026).

The second 16-year-old girl and the 17-year-old girl were granted conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Monday 13 July 2026.

The 20-year-old man was granted conditional bail to appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday 12 August 2026.
