Police Charge Four Men After Assaults Across Brisbane

Detectives have charged four men following investigations into a series of alleged assaults across

Brisbane's western suburbs between 27 May and 1 June.

Police will allege the group used handmade slingshots to fire metal objects at members of the

public from a vehicle between 27 May and 31 May.

It is alleged on the evening of 27 May, a 22-year-old woman was struck on the forehead, and a 36

year-old woman was struck on the hand by metal objects in separate incidents in Paddington and

Toowong.

On the evening of 31 May it is alleged a 53-year-old man was struck in the back, and a 64-year

old woman was struck in the jaw in separate incidents in Toowong and St Lucia.

As part of ongoing investigations, Indooroopilly Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) officers

intercepted a Hyundai i30 on Chapel Hill Road, Chapel Hill, at approximately 11.15pm on 31 May.

A search of the vehicle allegedly located two handmade slingshots, two pocket-shot style devices

and a set of knuckle dusters. The two occupants of the vehicle were detained at the scene.

A subsequent search warrant was executed at a Henty Drive, Redbank Plains address on 1 June,

where police allegedly located property allegedly related to the assaults.

Another search warrant was executed at a residence on Chelsea Place, Forest Lake at on 2 June

where police allegedly a quantity of cannabis and drug utensils.

A 19-year-old man from Forest Lake has been charged with 1 x AOBH armed/in company, 1 x

serious assault person over 60, 1 x discharge weapon in public place. He was granted bail and is

due to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 22 June 2026.

A 20-year-old Chapel Hill man has been charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily

harm while in company, one count of common assault, one count of unlawful possession of

weapons and one count of discharging a weapon in a public place. He was granted bail and is due

to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 22 June.

A 19-year-old Chapel Hill man has been charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily

public place. He was granted bail and is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 22

June.

A 19-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with three counts of assault occasioning

bodily harm while in company, one count of serious assault of a person over 60, one count of

discharging a weapon in a public place, one count of unlawful possession of suspected stolen

property, one count of possessing explosives without authority and one count of tainted property.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 23 June.

Investigations remain ongoing, and police are appealing to anyone who may have been recently

struck by an object from a passing vehicle in the Paddington, Toowong, St Lucia, Chapel Hill or

surrounding areas to contact police.
