Police charge four over vehicle crime

Detectives from Ballarat Divisional Response Unit have struck gold following an operation targeting vehicle crime.

Officers had noticed a spike in theft from motor vehicle and theft of motor vehicle incidents around the Ballarat Railway Station in recent weeks.

Investigators identified an address of interest and today executed a warrant in Iona Drive, Sebastopol.

Three males and a female were arrested at the address:

• A 24-year-old Wendouree man

• A 25-year-old Delacombe man

• A 17-year-old Creswick boy

• A 24-year-old Ballarat woman

It is alleged a large amount of property from the recent thefts was located at the property.

Police also located drugs including methyl amphetamine and cannabis.

All have been charged with and bailed/remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
