Police charge high range drink driver in Granton

Police urge all motorists to never drive under the influence, after a woman was detecting driving more than five times over the legal limit yesterday.

Around 2.30pm yesterday, police were notified of a late model grey Toyota Corolla driving erratically on the Lyell Highway, heading towards Granton.

Police intercepted the vehicle on the Lyell Highway at Granton.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman, was taken into custody and conveyed to the Bridgewater Police Station where she returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.251%.

She will be proceeded against for relevant traffic offences.
