Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 51-year-old man following the alleged fatal assault of a woman in Morwell in 2019.
Emergency services were called after a 44-year-old Morwell woman was located at her Sydney Street residence with life threatening injuries just before midday on Friday, 18 October 2019.
She was conveyed to hospital in a critical condition but subsequently died from her injuries on 7 November.
The 51-year-old man was arrested at an address in Oakleigh this morning and has since been charged with one count of murder.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
The investigation was conducted by Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit with assistance from the Homicide Squad.
It's alleged the victim was assaulted at her Sydney Street address in the early hours of Friday, 18 October 2019.
