Police charge man after an investigation into a break-in at Orange

A man will appear at court today charged over an alleged break and enter in the state's Central West.

It was reported to police that a home on Tobruk Crescent, Orange was broken into between 11am on Thursday (26 March 2020) and 10am on Monday (6 April 2020), where tools and a Mazda 6 Sedan were allegedly stolen.

Police located the Mazda in a carpark on Seymour Street about 2pm on Monday 6 April 2020. It was seized for forensic examination.

Following further investigations, about 2pm yesterday (Thursday 14 May 2020), officers executed a search warrant at a home on Glenroi Avenue, Orange.

During the search, officers located and seized cannabis and a tool that was believed to be stolen.

A 43-year-old man was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, steal property in dwelling-house, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Friday 15 May 2020).
