Police charge man after break and enter at Erina

A man has been charged after property which was allegedly stolen was located on the Central Coast earlier today.

About 9.30pm on Saturday 17 July 2021, police will allege two men forced entry to a shipping container located at a pub on The Entrance Road at the Bonnal Road intersection in Erina, and stole a large amount of commercial kitchen equipment – including an air compressor, an ice machine and several fridges.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District's Proactive Crime Team were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following extensive inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Quarterhorse Parade, Wadalba, about 9am today (Friday 23 July 2021).

During the search, police seized a number of items which they allege are stolen property from the Erina business – including commercial cooking equipment, fridges and a laser skirmish gun.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Wyong Police Station.

He was charged with the following offences:

  • aggravated break and enter in company
  • commit s114 offence, having previous convictions
  • larceny
  • dispose property-theft – serious indictable offence
  • possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority
  • acquire firearm – subject to prohibition order (x2)
  • possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, and
  • goods suspected stolen in/on premises

The Wadalba man was bail refused to appear at Newcastle Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 24 July 2021).
