Police charge man after Dallas non-fatal shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following a non-fatal shooting in Dallas earlier this week.

The 29-year-old Macleod man was arrested yesterday at an address in Armstrong Creek in relation to the alleged shooting on Benalla Street just after 12.30pm on Monday, 28 September.

He has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, common law assault, intentional cause injury, prohibited person possess firearm, use firearm (discharge bullet at premises) and drive whilst suspended.

The victim, a 40-year-old Dallas man sustained a gunshot to the lower body and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he remains.

A 29-year-old Armstrong Creek woman was also arrested yesterday in relation to the shooting however he has been released pending further enquiries.

The Macleod man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.

The pair have also been charged with breaching the Chief Health Officer's directions after being found to be further than 5km outside their residential addresses.
