Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Moutajup.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a Mitsubishi Triton utility and a motorcycle at the intersection of Mill and Taylors roads about 4.30pm on Saturday, 10 May.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old Coleraine man, died at the scene.
The passenger from the motorcycle, a 63-year-old Gruyere woman, was airlifted to hospital at the time with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 20-year-old Tyrendarra man, has since been charged with a number of offences, including:
- culpable driving
- negligently cause serious injury
- dangerous driving causing death
- dangerous driving causing serious injury.
He was bailed to appear before Warrnambool Magistrates' Court on 10 October.
