Police Charge Man After Fatal Crash At Ulmarra

A man has been charged following a fatal crash in the state's north yesterday.

About 4.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 28 October 2025), emergency services were called to a showground on Coldstream Street, Ulmarra – about 15km north of Grafton – following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and were told a white 4WD had struck a pedestrian, before it was seen driving along Big River Way towards Grafton.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 55-year-old woman for serious injuries; however, she died at the scene.

Police declared a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

Following inquiries, about 7.40am today (Wednesday 29 October 2025), police located and seized a 4WD in South Grafton.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and has been taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with murder and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.

The man has been refused bail to face Bail Division Court 1 tomorrow (Thursday 30 October 2025).
