Police charge man after forcing woman into bath with bleach - Carramar

A man will appear in Fairfield court today after allegedly detaining a woman and making her bath in a bleach solution, in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 2am (Thursday 16 January 2020), a 40-year-old man allegedly detained an 18-year-old woman at a home on Waterside Crescent, Carramar. Police believe they are known to each other.

A short time later, police allege the man forced the woman to have a bath, which contained bleach and other chemicals in the water. The woman suffered skin irritation as a result.

About 12.30pm, the woman allegedly escaped the home and police were called.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command arrested the man after he drove into a parked vehicle on Waterside Crescent.

A crime scene was established at the home and police have commenced an investigation.

The man has been charged with take/detain person to obtain advantage, malicious damage, intimidation and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Friday 17 January 2020).
