Staff contacted police who attended a short time later.

The 50-year-old was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for treatment to lacerations on his face and neck.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District established a crime scene and arrested the older man.

He was also taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury before being conveyed to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 11 August 2021.
