Police charge man after intimidation of family at Central Coast restaurant

A man has been charged with intimidation and affray after allegedly confronting a family at a Central Coast restaurant.

About 12.45pm on Sunday 21 February 2021, a 60-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman and two children – aged eight and three – were eating inside a fast food restaurant on Anzac Road, Tuggerah, when they were approached by a man, who verbally abused the family and intimidated the children in an unprovoked incident.

The older man attempted to diffuse the situation, while the man – not known to the family – continued to threaten and abuse the family before leaving the venue.

Police were notified and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, a 43-year-old man was arrested at The Entrance on Sunday (28 March 2021) for an unrelated matter and taken to Wyong Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm and one count of affray.

The man was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on Tuesday 6 April 2021.
