Police charge man after Point Cook death

Homicide Squad detectives have today charged a man following a fatal stabbing in Point Cook yesterday.

A 28-year-old Diggers Rest man was interviewed this morning and subsequently charged with a number of offences including murder and possess amphetamines.

He will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court this afternoon via video link.

The charges follow the death of a 35-year-old Point Cook man following an altercation at a property on Point Cook Road about 2.45pm on 13 August.

It's believed the parties involved were known to each other.

Police and SES are also conducting a search in Point Cook today as part of this investigation.
