Police charge man after police pursuit in Sydney Olympic Park

Police have charged a man following a pursuit through Sydney Olympic Park yesterday.

Just before 4pm (Monday 28 December 2020), police attempted to stop a vehicle on Hill Road, at the intersection of Pondage Link at Sydney Olympic Park.

It will be alleged the driver failed to stop and a pursuit commenced.

Shortly after, the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Avenue of Oceania and Hill Road.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was arrested and searched. Officers will allege they located 153 Benzodiazepine tablets in his pocket.

He was taken to Auburn Police where he was charged with intimidation (DV), drive manner dangerous, police pursuit, drive while suspended and possess restricted substance.

The man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear in Burwood Local Court on Thursday 14 January 2021.

A female passenger was also arrested at the scene, however, released pending further inquiries.
