Police Charge Man After Preston Fatal Collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision which occurred in Preston last year.

Investigators have been told a car and pedestrian collided at the intersection of Tyler and Albert streets about 5pm on 5 August, 2024.

A 66-year-old man from Reservoir was taken to hospital where he later died.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Preston, was today charged with dangerous driving causing death, drive in a dangerous manner, carless driving and other traffic related offences.

He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 23 June.
