A man will face court today charged after a pursuit in Sydney's southwest last night.
About 11.35pm (Friday 6 June 2025), officers from Liverpool City Highway Patrol were patrolling Camden Valley Way, Prestons, when they attempted to stop the driver of a Hyundai Accent.
When the driver of the vehicle failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle continued along Camden Valley Way before travelling east along the M5 Motorway and turning onto Belmore Road at Riverwood.
The pursuit continued along Belmore Road and with the assistance of Polair, the vehicle was tracked through local streets of Bankstown before it stopped on Pringle Avenue, Bankstown.
Officers attached to Liverpool City HWP – assisted by officers attached to Cumberland HWP, Bankstown Police Area Command, Southwest Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad and the Dog Squad – arrested the driver of the vehicle – a 33-year-old man.
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with 12 offences

- Assault police in execution of duty without actual bodily harm
- Refuse or fail to provide oral fluid sample
- Refuse to produce Australian drivers licence / state name / address
- Never license person drive vehicle on road
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 7 June 2025).
Police will allege the vehicle was stolen from a Campbelltown address on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
