Police charge man after restaurant glassing at Bankstown

Detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command have charged a man following an assault at a local restaurant that left the owner with a laceration to his head yesterday.

About 7.30pm (Monday 9 September 2019), officers were called to the restaurant on South Terrace following reports the 38-year-old owner had been assaulted.

On arrival officers found the man to be suffering a laceration to his head believed to have been caused by a smashed glass.

Detectives commenced inquiries that led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man at the intersection of South Terrace and carnation Avenue, Punchbowl.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local today (Tuesday 10 September 2019).
