Police charge man after road rage incident

A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged road rage incident.

On Saturday 30 September 2023, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were notified of an alleged road rage incident on Woodville Road, Guildford.

Police had been told a blue sedan and a white SUV were stationary at a set of traffic lights when one of the drivers exited their vehicle and confronted the other driver.

Following an argument, police will allege the SUV driver kicked the driver's side mirror of the sedan, before punching the 74-year-old driver.

Following inquiries, a 23-year-old was arrested at Granville Police Station around 11pm yesterday (Monday 13 November 2023).

The man was charged with common assault and destroy/damage property.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 5 December 2023.
