Police Charge Man After Serious Assault - Warwick Farm

A man has been charged following a serious assault in Sydney's south-west.

About 10:30am yesterday (Thursday 11 September 2025), emergency services were called to Lawrence Hargrave Road, Warwick Farm, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Liverpool Police Area Command attended the scene and were told an elderly man had been assaulted with a hammer by another man.

Officers found a 65-year-old man with head injuries outside a unit complex.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Following inquiries, officers attended a unit complex on Lawrence Hargraves Road to speak to a 53-year-old man.

When the man refused to answer the door, a perimeter was established and extra resources were called, before he was arrested about 1.20pm the same day.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, destroy or damage property greater than $2000, common assault, and enter inclosed land without lawful excuse.

He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 12 September 2025).
