Police charge man after serious collision in Melbourne

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a collision in Melbourne's CBD in May.

A 44-year-old Richmond woman was crossing Flinders Street when she was hit by a vehicle shortly before 10am on 26 May.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she sadly died on 9 July.

Police arrested the driver of the vehicle at the scene.

The 33-year-old Caulfield man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, careless driving and reverse when unsafe.

He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 21 September.
