Police Charge Man After Sexual Assault At Tamworth

A man will face court charged after an investigation into alleged sexual offences in the state's west.

On Friday 25 July 2025, officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation after reports a 21-year-old woman – who was a customer – was allegedly inappropriately touched before she was sexually assaulted at a business on Peel Street, Tamworth.

Police were told a male employee allegedly touched the woman inappropriately before sexually assaulting her.

Following inquires, about 8.30am yesterday (Monday 19 August 2025), police arrested a 31-year-old at a home in Oxley Vale.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with sexually touch another person without consent and sexual intercourse without consent.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Monday 1 September 2025.
