Police Charge Man After Shotgun Seized In Dallas

Broadmeadows police have charged a man after a shotgun was seized from a vehicle in Dallas last night.

Officers were called to reports a man slumped over in the driver's seat of stationary vehicle in a carpark off Dobell Place about 8pm.

Initial reports suggested the man may have been subject to an overdose.

Police arrived on scene and managed to rouse the alleged driver.

Officers searched the vehicle and seized:

  • an unloaded sawn-off double-barrelled shotgun
  • an empty box of 12-gauge shotgun shells
  • drugs of dependence
  • drug paraphernalia including scales
  • a baton

A 37-year-old Meadow Heights man has been charged with offences including possess firearm, possess ammunition, traffick and possess drug of dependence and deal with property believed to be proceeds of crime.

He was bailed to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court 5 March 2026.
