Police charge man after stabbing at Lismore

A man has been charged and will face Court, while three men remain in hospital following an alleged stabbing on the North Coast yesterday.

About 2.30pm (Friday 11 June 2021) officers from Richmond Police District were called to Campbell Crescent, Goonellabah, after reports three men had suffered stab wounds to their backs.

The men, aged in their 20, 32 and 45 were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.

A number of crime scenes were established as police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A short time later, a 30-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Lismore Police Station.

He was charged with eight offences including wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (three counts), reckless wounding (three counts) and two outstanding warrants.

The man was refused bail to appear before Lismore Court later today (Saturday 12 June 2021).
