Police charge man after threats made at medical clinic at Wollongong

A man has been charged after allegedly making threats to a patient in a medical clinic in the state's Illawarra yesterday.

About 9.15am (Monday 26 September 2022), police were called to a medical clinic on Auburn Street, Wollongong, following reports of a dispute.

Police have been told two patients became involved in an argument before one of the patients – a 47-year-old man – allegedly threatened the other patient.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District were notified and, following inquiries, attended a home in Albert Street, Unanderra, where they spoke to the man.

He was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with armed with intent commit indictable offence and affray.

During a subsequent search of the home, police allegedly located an electronic stun device, ammunition and a clear plastic cap gun.

All items were seized for forensic examination.

The Unanderra man was granted conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 8 November 2022.
