Police charge man after three women sexually assaulted - Murrumbidgee

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual assault of three women in the state's south last week.

About 10pm on Thursday 8 July 2021, police have been told a man entered a home in Yanco, where two women – aged 18 and 21 – were inside.

The women asked the man to leave, before he allegedly sexually touched the younger woman and attempted to sexually assault the older woman.

The man left and attended a home in Leeton, where he allegedly sexually assaulted a 22-year-old woman.

The incidents were reported to police on Tuesday (13 July 2021), and officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a home on Cassia Road, Leeton, and arrested a 29-year-old man about 12.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 14 July 2021).

He was taken to Leeton Police Station, where he was charged with three counts of aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence - deprive liberty, take and detain person with intent to obtain advantage serious indictable offence, two counts of sexual intercourse without consent serious indictable offence, and sexually touch another person without consent.

The Leeton man was refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court today (Thursday 15 July 2021).

The man was known to the three women.
