Police charge man after two people hit by car

A 19-year-old man has been charged after a police officer and teenage girl were struck by a car in Bell Park early this morning.

The man, of no fixed address, will face 15 charges including conduct endangering life, recklessly cause serious injury and unlicensed driving.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Geelong Magistrates' Court on 20 January.

The charges relate to an incident on Yaraan Street where the policeman and a 16-year-old girl were struck by a car while attempting to arrest the driver about 1am.

The Belmont girl and senior constable were both taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
