Police charge man and woman after sexual act in public - Stanmore

Police have charged a man and woman after they allegedly performed a sexual act near a primary school in Sydney's inner-west yesterday.

About 8.30am (Monday 17 February 2020), police were called after the pair was allegedly seen publicly performing the act at Weekley Park, in Stanmore.

At the time, a number of parents and children were in or near the park as school was starting.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command attended and arrested a 39-year-old man and 31-year-old woman.

The man was also allegedly found with methamphetamines and cannabis after being searched by police.

The pair was taken to Newtown Police Station.

The man was charged with wilful and obscene behaviour, offensive conduct and possess prohibited drugs. He was granted bail, to appear at Newtown Local Court on Monday 24 February 2020.

The woman was charged with offensive behaviour and granted bail, to appear at Newtown Local Court on Thursday 12 March 2020.
